Salt Lake Community College always gives CEU fits and this trip was no exception. The Eagles dropped the Friday night game by a mere three points with a final of 74-73. Saturday SLCC stepped it up and downed CEU by six in a 56-62 defensive struggle.
On Friday night CEU played tough. They were down by five at the half. The Eagles actually outscored SLCC by two in the second half of play, but it wasn’t enough to pull out a win.
Elisha Harris and Staci Little each put up 16 points on the night. Little also scooped in seven rebounds in the loss. SLCC went 25-30 from the line to help their cause.
On Saturday night it was CEU who took the lead in the first half. They carried a three point lead into the locker room. After the break it was SLCC who took over and they out scored the Eagles by nine for a six point win.
Harris was the Eagles leading scorer with 18 points. Mallory Holm added 10. Little pulled in another six rebounds. But again SLCC went to the line more than twice as often as the Eagles and were 21-26 from the line.
Conference play continues this weekend with a pair of games with Snow College. These will be played on the road. CEU will not play at home again until Jan. 26.
