Jennie Olson
SPRING GLEN – Jennie Hinkins Olson, age 96, passed away at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and George Farish on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007.
She was born April 1, 1910 in Sunnyside, to Parley Jones Hinkins and Jane Catherine Jennison White. Married Willis Lee Olson Sr. June 2, 1931 in Castle Dale; he preceded her in death on May 7, 1971.
Jennie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as Relief Society secretary.
She loved the outdoors, and fly fishing Little Huntington stream was one of her favorite sports. She loved going hunting with family even though she never hunted.
When her hands and eyes permitted, she was an excellent embroider making sure that each stitch was sized and placed to perfection. Jennie made many items that she gave to family and friends.
She enjoyed company, especially with her family and friends, from the youngest to the oldest, she just enjoyed visiting. She will be missed by those who knew her.
Surviving relatives include three sisters and one brother, Pearl Slater, Anchorage, Ala.; Dorothy (Clyde) Peterson, Spring Glen; Dora Olson, Price; Arthur (Francis) Hinkins, Salt Lake; children, Wilson Olson Jr., Delta Colo.; Robert (Darlene) Olson, Spring Glen; Colleen (George) Farish, Helper; 10 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband; parents; four brothers, Parley, William, Earl and Gary; sister, Hanna May; daughter-in-law, Alice Olson; grandson, Jack Olson; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service Friday, Jan. 12, 11 a.m., Carbonville LDS Ward Chapel located at 4000 North 2000 West in Spring Glen. Family will be at the church Friday one hour prior to service. Friends are welcome at Mitchell’s daily. Interment, Price city cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home.
Dee Henrie
PRICE – Wyler Dee Henrie, age 78, passed away Jan. 7, 2007 at his home.
He was born Aug. 5, 1928 in Neola, to Roosevelt and Margaret Jones Henrie. Married Rosella Stormer in Elko, Nev.; she passed away on Sept. 28, 2002.
Dee was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he was a home teacher and caretaker at the ward buildings.
He was fun loving, and he made those around him laugh and feel like a true friend. He was a very kind, honest, and hard working person whose word was as good as gold.
Dee honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during Korea.
He was a longtime resident of Carbon County where he was a devoted and faithful employee of City Sanitation for many years.
He loved pets, helping others, and will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
Survived by sister, Virginia Bensen, Eugene, Ore.; nieces and nephews, Ruth Henrie, Paul Dexter, Patricia McKee, Gayle Babbel, Kelly Finnegan, Kathy Vance, Karrie Beason; and a community of friends. Preceded in death by parents; and sister, Val Jean Finnegan.
Funeral service Friday, Jan. 12, 2 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Friday one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
Henry Herrera
PARKVIEW, N.M. – Henry “Chick” Herrera, our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on Jan. 6, 2007 at home surrounded by his family.
Chick was born in Parkview, N.M., on July 18, 1939 to Victor Herrera and Gregorita Gonzales. He married Elaine Campbell on Feb. 1, 1964 in Salt Lake City.
Proudly served his country for four years in the U.S. Army.
Chick spent 26 years as a grinder for May Foundry and was a member of the local Molder’s Union.
Chick enjoyed many sports such as wrestling, where he finished his senior year of high school undefeated. He especially loved boxing. He won the Golden Gloves and went to Chicago for Nationals and finished in second place in 1958. As most of his friends and family knows, he loved to play cards where his playing was done in his own time.
He is survived by wife, Elaine; sons, Rocky (Traci), Angelo (Vickie); daughter, Jeri (Andrea); six brothers, Ruben (Joy), Victor (Ruth), Ralph (Genie), Johnny (Carol), Dale, Morris( Jenae); three sisters, Eligie, Bennie and Julia; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Tristan, Joffree, Spencer, Clairissa, Delanie; and one great-grandchild, Kylie. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Lucy; and brother, Donald.
Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, Jan. 10, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Salt Lake City, with vigil service on Tuesday. Interment, Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Avenue and “T” Street under the arrangements of Starks Funeral Parlor, Salt Lake City.
His family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses in the ICU at Salt Lake Regional Hospital for their wonderful care. They especially want to thank his family and friends for their love, support and condolences.
Maxine Price
WELLINGTON – Maxine Oline Price, 81, left this earthly existence on Jan. 8, 2007.
She was born Oct. 11, 1925 the 12th of 13 children, born to Hans Frederick Jorgensen and Olive Christine Christensen Jorgensen in the town of Emery. She married Daniel James Price on Dec. 24, 1941 in Castle Dale. Solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on Dec. 9, 1961. Married for 65 years.
Mom was a woman of many talents, took pride in her appearance, and took great joy in doing things to make her home beautiful.
She especially loved anything to do with flowers and spent many years making floral arrangements and corsages for friends and family as well as working for Slaugh’s Floral.
Mom and Dad liked to travel and took many trips in their trailer, but mom’s favorite place to go was the old homestead outside Clawson where they began their life full of memories together.
Member of the LDS Church, where she faithfully worked in Primary, MIA and Relief Society organizations.
She is survived by husband, Danny of Wellington; children, Diane (Jimmy) Henrie of Wellington; grandchildren, Jayme Sacco, Stacy Fincher, Shaunna Barney, Jason Henrie, Deborah Bott, James Daniel “JD” (Sherry) Price of Cedar City, Marci Wallin, Brady Price, Brook Price and Trenton Price; brother, Leonard Jorgensen (100 years old) of Butte, Mont.; as well as 15 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Frederick, Buster, Gene, Dutch, Leland, Mildred, Myrtle, Elizabeth, Lilly, Edith, Alta and Burnetta.
Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 15, 11 a.m., at the Wellington LDS Stake Center with a viewing one hour prior to services. There will also be a viewing at Fausett Mortuary in Price Sunday, Jan. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment, Emery Cemetery.
Patricia Rizzuto
MURRAY – Patricia Jo (Hill) Rizzuto, age 45, of Murray died Jan. 9, 2007 at St. Mark’s Hospital after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer.
“Trish” was born Jan. 1, 1962 in Houston, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Martha Onile (Ruckman-Hill) Kreiling and the late Cecil Wesley Hill. Married Tony Rizzuto July 10, 2000 in Salt Lake City.
She recently graduated from Salt Lake Community College with a certificate in medical billing.
She is survived by soulmate, best friend and husband, Tony Rizzuto; three sons, Joseph Mark Adams, Hedgesville, W.Va.; Joshua Wade Adams, Hedgesville, W.Va.; Clinton Wesley Adams, Great Cacapon, W.Va.; two stepdaughters, Monica Furness, West Jordan; Cassie Hill, Logan; two stepsons, Mark Rizzuto, Salt Lake City; Jared Rizzuto, St. George; one sister, Rhonda L. Smith, Short Gap, W.Va.; three brothers, John Wayne Hill, Lancaster, Pa.; twin, Patrick Gene Hill, Williamsport, Pa.; Michael Lannan Hill, St. George; 11 grandchildren; and second mother, Mary Rizzuto.
Funeral service Saturday Jan. 13, 11 a.m., Mitchel Funeral Home, 233 East Main, Price. Family will be at Mitchell’s Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
