Lauren Barnett and Mckenzie Bentley defend against a spike by Juan Diego in a game earlier in the season.

Once again it looks as if the Carbon Lady Dino volleyball team is headed for the state playoffs.
As region play continues, the team picked off another opponent as it easily defeated Juan Diego in three straight games.
Posting scores of 25-23, 25-14, and 25-15 they rolled on to pick up another easy win.
Slow starts continue to be the style of the Lady Dino volleyball squad.
Game one was the closest battle of the night as the girls from the north made it a close contest. After warming up, the Dinos got down to business and closed out the next two games in a decisive manner.
Coach Bean felt that setter Julia Potts had another outstanding game as she delivered the ball well. Her play allowed a very balanced scoring attack from the entire team. Unlike most games where Megan Garvin leads the attack with the majority of kills, there was a good balance for this match that Bean was pleased with.
The Dinos will now have a breather before taking on Delta at home on Oct. 10th.
Then they will get a second shot at the only team that beat them in Region 8 play this year when they take on North Sanpete on Oct. 17 in Mt. Pleasant.
The Lady Hawks presently are 4-0 (11-4-0 overall) while Carbon stands at 3-1 (6-7-0 overall). With only two games left it appears the worst Carbon could be seeded in the state tournament is second from Region 8.
This would be the sixth straight year that Carbon is in the state tournament with them winning the 3A championship twice during that time.
