Rantings and Ravings

I had to write this today before I forget to. I have been doing that a lot lately.
Forgetting things, that is.
I don’t know if it is because I am more distracted with the grandkids here, a bit of old age starting to show or what.
The other day I put the youngest into the car and drove off and left my groceries in the cart in the parking lot.
A few weeks ago, on a very windy day, I drove off with all my sports stories and photos on top of the car. I was lucky my neighbor was watching and chased them around the block until he rescued everything for me.
I am the lady walking around the grocery store mumbling to myself because I can’t remember what I came to the store to buy. Yeah I could make a list, but I usually forget at least one thing on the list anyway, so what is the point.
I went to a store I don’t frequent very often the other day because there was something I needed that only they carry. I hate to shop in that store because they only open one of two check-out lanes no matter how busy it is.
Anyway, I wandered around getting what I needed, but I kept thinking “Why did I come here? I could get all this anywhere in town.” Of course it was two days later before I remembered it was a certain floor cleaner I was after. I had to go back and get it on another day.
Today I forgot to get gas while we were out. With the cars needle riding below the E, it is probably not a good thing to forget to do.
I did in fact remember to buy a Sponge Bob table and chairs and stuff for dinner tonight.
So where am I going with this column?
I forget.
I actually had something in mind to write about this week, but I can’t remember what it was. I thought if I messed around enough telling stories, the idea would come back. It has not. It is probably hanging up in the air on Wood Hill where I was thinking about it this morning.
So I hope by next week divine inspiration occurs so I can get back on track. Until then I need to get busy doing something.
Oh yeah I started a load of laundry about four hours ago.
I think the load is finished.
