A Carbon soccer player pops up the ball during last Friday’s game.

After beating Grand last week, Carbon knew it had some tough region opponents yet to face. One of those was North Sanpete and it proved a little much for the Dinos as they lost 5-0.
Coach Rex Jeppson has been having his team work on their transition game to get ready for the games ahead. He feels like the defense has really come along this year, but the offense is still struggling. Once the team gets their transition game going, they should see some measure of success.
Against North Sanpete the Dinos were able to move the ball better in the first half, they just could not push a goal past for a score. They did hold the Hawks to only on goal in that half.
In the second half of play, the Hawks scored three quick goals to break open the game. Carbon still was unable to score anything and had to settle for another loss mark in the record books..
Last Friday Juan Diego came to town. Juan Diego was leading the region at 10-0 at the time but Carbon had played them tough in their first meeting, losing only 3-0. However, Carbon’s defense was not as tough this time though, allowing five goals before the half time break, in the scheme of things the Dinos lost their final game of the season 5-3.
Juan Diego’s offense slowed down in the second half and Carbon had nothing to lose. They played hard and finally managed to put those three through the goal posts in the final minutes of the game. Nathaniel Woodward, Michael Jensen, and Amtoni Teodorczyk all scored in the losing effort for the Dinos.
The team finished the season tied with Grand at 1-9 in region play.
