Jake Malone stops a kick by a Rabbit player during the game.

The Carbon Soccer team hosted the Delta Rabbits at home on April 19 and the warm weather didn’t heat up the socking efforts of the Carbon team at all. Even though they were able to put together some drives into Rabbit territory, they were not able to push the ball past the Delta goalie and came up empty handed again.
Delta was able jump out to a 4-0 lead in the first half. Carbon tried to regroup. Jake Malone made several good saves, but the Rabbits just kept the pressure up and stuffed three more past him and his team to take the victory, 7-0.
Friday’s trip to Grand may be the high of the season as the team was able to celebrate their first win of the season. This was the fourth time that Carbon had met up with Grand. Each time they have played some of their best soccer. This time it paid off.
Nathan Woodward had a hat trick by scoring a goal in each half and kicking the final tie breaker in overtime to lead the Dinos to their first victory of the season. Two of Woodward’s goals were off of free kicks. The Dinos now improve to 1-6 in region play. They face Granite on Monday, but will be at home on Wednesday to meet up with North Sanpete.
