John Howa


PRICE – John Mose Howa, age 91, passed away Nov. 28, 2005 at his home while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Sept. 13, 1914 in Hiawatha to Mose John and Sophia Gazelle Howa. Married Kathryn Woodard April 26, 1941 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Helper.
John Howa was devoted to serving all citizens in Carbon County. Never was there an organization or family needing support that Johnnie wasn’t there to help. The legacy he left his family was his loving heart and giving spirit. Carbon County has lost one of its favorite sons.
John was a member of the Catholic Church and will be remembered by all.
Survived by loving wife of 64 years, Kathryn Howa, Price; daughter, Jean Ann (Kay) Dimick, Helper; 10 sons, Mose John Howa, Birmingham, Ala.; Deward Lee (Linda) Howa; Robert Lynn (Linda) Howa; Daniel (Debra) Howa; Rex Abraham Howa, all of Price; Roy Christopher (Jackie) Howa, Mesa, Ariz.; Paul Joseph (Udella) Howa, Price; Phillip James (Jamie) Howa, Helper; Edward John (Wilma) Helper; Frank Mathew (Nancy) Howa, Los Angeles, Calif.; brother, Edward Michael (Bernice) Howa, Twin Falls, Idaho; 33 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, many loving nieces, nephews and a community of friends. Preceded in death by parents; son, David George; grandson, Lewis Howa; brothers, Richard, Joseph, James; and sister, Mary Louise Ghirardelli.
Funeral Mass Friday, Dec. 2, 10 a.m., at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., with the vigil service starting at 7 p.m. Committal service, Mountain View Cemetery, Helper.
In lieu of flowers, make donations to the Notre Dame de Lourdes Building Fund, 160 N. Carbon Ave., Price, Utah.


Amy Johnson


AURORA, Colo./PRICE – Amy Lynne Wilstead Johnson, angel mother, wife, daughter and sister returned to her Father in Heaven on Nov. 30, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer and its complications.
Amy was born June 6, 1969 in Price to Jim and Susan Wilstead. She married Todd Johnson April 14, 1990 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Amy’s number one priority in life was loving, teaching and caring for her special daughter, Macie. She also loved making cards, stamping, scrapbooking and talking on the phone with her family and friends. Amy loved her Savior and loved serving in his church. Up to the time of her death, she held a position in the Primary sending birthday cards to the children and leaders.
Amy is survived by husband, Todd; daughter, Macie; parents, Jim and Susan Wilstead, of Price; brother, Steven Wilstead, and wife, Dawn, West Jordan; sisters, Paula Clark, Lake Havasu, Ariz.; Natalie Wilstead, West Jordan; Jamie Wissmar, West Jordan; nieces and nephews, Amber, Brandon, Justin, Mackenzie and Rylan; special in-laws, Dan and Sally Johnson, St. George; Ryan, Sarah, Chris and Lori and children, Jodi, Gracey, Lexi, Jina, Kami and Chelsey.
The family would like to thank the members of the Aurora, Colo., Meadowood LDS Ward for their loving service, and especially thanks to Amy Curtis who showed unconditional love and compassion. Also, appreciation to the visiting nurses and CNS Becky Phillips.
Services will be held Monday, Dec. 5, at the Price 4th/5th LDS Ward Chapel, in Price. Interment, Price City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary. Contact Fausett’s for time of service at (435) 637-1181.


Ronald Krompel


PRICE/CALIFORNIA – Ronald J. Krompel, 48, passed away suddenly due to a massive heart attack.
Ronny was born July 10, 1957 to Bill and Leah Olsen Krompel.
He attended school in Carbon County and was employed at the Utah Power Plant in Castle Gate for several years. He moved to Grand Junction, Colo., where he resided for a number of years. He was residing in California at the time of his passing.
He is survived by parents; brothers, Billy (Joni), Ricky (Debbie), Randy and Kerry of Price; sister, Sherry (Todd) Larsen, of St. George; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
