Ardith Lampshire
CASTLE VALLEY – Ardith Ann Davis Lampshire passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Castle Valley after a long illness.
She was born on March 7, 1921 in Springville, to Israel Owen and Edith Alberta Davis. She married James William Lampshire April 7, 1943 in Price. Together they had four children, Owen (Dean), Edwin (Jim), Kent William, and Sandra (Sandi) Keele.
She was the president of the Bookcliff Society in Sunnyside for many years. Both she and her husband ran the 4-H Club and were long-standing members of the PTA.
She was an avid gardener and also enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, quilting and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Through her work with children, she was called by many of them “Mom.”
Ardith moved to Castle Valley with her daughter and son-in-law in 1999. She will be missed for her kind, caring, loving nature and hard work and enduring through life’s challenges.
She is survived by brother, Jay Davis, Salt Lake City; daughter, Sandy (Larry) Keele, Castle Valley; son, Kent, Washington; grandchildren, Mike Keele, Castle Valley, Tara (Steve) Cannistraci, Moab; Troy (Sabrina) Urbalejo, Farmington, N.M.; Kevin Lampshire, California; Nadine Brennan, Washington; great-grandchildren; Jim and Dakota Cannistraci, Moab; Adrian and Dominic Urbalejo, Farmington, N.M.; T.J. and Rachel Urbalejo, Washington; Joel and Caitlin Brennan, Washington; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband; sons, Dean and Jim; great-grandsons, Stephen and Brandon Cannistraci; brothers and sisters, Edith, Betty, Bliss and Phyllis.
At her request, she was cremated. Memorial services will be Oct. 29, at the Castle Valley LDS Branch at 10 a.m. and a graveside service at 3 p.m. at the Price Cemetery.

Roland Erkkila
SCOFIELD – Urho Roland Erkkila, age 88, died Oct. 24, 2005 in Price.
He was born Aug. 13, 1917 in Clear Creek to John August and Ida Lydia Kangas Erkkila. He married Melba Dorine Donaldson July 3, 1946 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Roland served in World War II in the Pacific Theater as a corporal in the U.S. Army where he received a Purple Heart.
He has been a member of the UMWA for most of his life and worked on turbines for General Electric for over 10 years.
As an active member of the LDS Church he served in various callings including branch president of the Scofield branch.
He loved spending time with his family in the outdoors. He loved to hike and until last year he would walk two miles a day.
Roland is survived by wife, Melba of Scofield; two children and their spouses, Mike and Kim Erkkila of Scofield; Dorine and Robert Pero of Spring Glen; eight grandchildren, Tod Erkkila, Brad (Jenni) Erkkila, James (Kami) Erkkila, Jennifer Erkkila, Jeremy (Danielle) Pero, Jamie Pero, Jeff (Melissa) Pero and Jordan Pero; and two great-grandchildren, Makaiah and Kristopher Bennion. Also survived by sister, Lilly Woolsey of Clear Creek. He is preceded in death by son, Bill; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Oct. 29, noon, in the Scofield LDS Chapel. Friends may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial, Scofield Cemetery.
Josalyn Ryan
PRICE – Josalyn “Jawsy” Clare Ryan, age 23, returned home to her Father in Heaven and many loved ones on Oct. 24, 2005.
She was born Aug. 1, 1982 in Payson, to Jerry Dee Ryan Jr. and Annette Clare (Taylor) Ryan.
Graduated from Carbon High School in May 2000 and was the first student there to “letter” in music. She attended CEU and was working as a prep cook/bakers helper there.
Josalyn loved making others happy and her warm smile brought sunshine to all those she came in contact with. Josalyn was very unselfish and would freely give to others. She lived life to the fullest and everyday was an adventure for her. She enjoyed the simple things of life like rainbows, stars and the sunrise.
She enjoyed singing, photography, crocheting, writing poetry, fishing, dancing, cats and children. But most of all, Josalyn loved music and was able to play any instrument by ear. She was practicing to sing for the annual Handel’s Messiah in which she participated the last four years.

Kevin Wells
WELLINGTON – Kevin Wells, age 46, passed away suddenly on Oct. 25, 2005 of a massive heart attack.
He as born Oct. 14, 1959 in Price to Ross and Maxine Lambson Wells. Married Lynette Vuksinick Feb. 14, 1981 in Las Vegas, Nev.
Kevin was a graduate of Carbon High School Class of 1978 and was employed at Deer Creek Coal Mine where he worked for the past 28 years.
Kevin was a sports fanatic and he wrestled and played football all through high school. He was a passionate Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos fan. Kevin and Kyle argued constantly over the Broncos and Raiders.
Kevin coached Justin, Kyle and Josh through little league and quite a few all-star games. He coached little league football for all the boys and loved every minute of it. He wanted to coach Jessie in softball, however, she wanted to play little league and he wasn’t going for that.
Kevin and Josh were his all time hunting partners. Kevin said Josh had such buck fever that he would knee-cap everything he shot at. Last years buffalo hunt for Josh was very important to both of them.
Jessie was the light of his life. If he would have had his way, she would have never dated. He was very excited about her starting college in January and was always amazed at how smart and beautiful she was.
Survived by wife of 25 years, Lynette Wells; son, Josh and Jessica Lehman; daughter, Jessie; nephew, Kyle Hamann; foster daughter, Sasha Fowler and Mike; and Papa’s only granddaughter, Angel; foster daughter, Angela Sorrels; mother, Maxine Wells; sister, Kriss Larsen; brothers, Keith, Kenny and Kerry Wells; sister-in-law, Vanessa (Ben) Benedict; and mother-in-law, Faye Vuksinick. Preceded in death by son, Justin; father, Ross; father-in-law, Martin Vuksinick; sister-in-law, Melanie; grandparents, Tom and Elga Wells, Lavelle and Emma Lambson; and aunt, Bonnie.

Anita Arballo
SUNNYSIDE – Anita Marie Arballo, age 45, passed away Oct. 23, 2005 at her home in Sunnyside.
Born Nov. 3, 1959 in Beverly Hills, Calif., to Arvid and Emma Bea McCloud Theorine. Married George Arballo Aug. 4, 1997 in Las Vegas, Nev.
Anita had a love for life and lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and friends, swimming, playing darts and eating spaghetti. She had a great love for roses and her special friend, Cheyenne Marie Colcord.
