Editor:
There’s been some negativism in a few of the letters to the editor I’ve seen lately and a lot of things are being discussed by people from out of our area that have little or nothing to do with us.
I would like to point out a few positive things that have been going on in the community.
First of all go to the skate park on Seventh North and take a look at not only the skate park, but also the new BMX track that has been built there. There’s been a really nice job done there and they’re also building a new girls softball field. The new field can be used by the high school girls softball team, as well as the general public, for public recreation.
The little league fields at the Toy Atwood ball complex at North Price are being refurbished; the eastern most field is done and looks really nice with new fencing and new advertising signs all around the fence that are formatted exactly the same and the western most field is currently being renovated and it appears as if it will look as nice as the one that has been completed. I find that outstanding.
The high school baseball team is to be congratulated for their recent victory in capturing the title for their division. They went undefeated through the entire playoffs having to overcome Pineview High School in two back-to-back games at the very end of the tournament. Hopefully some baseball scholarships will be forthcoming from the College of Eastern Utah for the graduating players. Certainly some of these fine young men from our local community should be considered.
It appears a decision has been reached on the location of the new ambulance garage on Airport Road. I hate to see more in city limit property being taken off the tax rolls, however, I believe the location that they’ve selected will serve the community well, and provides ready access to Highway 6 and Highway 10 as well as being conveniently located in Price City.
We have our problems but Price City is still a great place to live.
