Carbon County Sheriff’s Deputy Roy Robinson and Chief Deputy Guy Adams look over a bridge in Carbonville searching for the supposed victim of a train-pedestrian accident on Wednesday morning. On Tuesday night just after 11 p.m. both the conductor and engineer on a freight train passing through the area said they witnessed a person on the tracks get hit by their train. Law enforcement officers and rescue personnel searched into the wee hours of the morning for a victim but could never find any sign of them. Wednesday morning the sheriff’s department went back out and did some additional searching but found nothing to denote that anyone had even been hit and left the scene. Residents are reminded that railroad tracks are private property and people should not walk on them at any time except at designated crossings.
