De Los Orr
PRICE – De Los L. Orr passed away Dec. 25, 2004 in Price after a courageous fight with lung cancer, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 10, 1922 in Salt Lake to Larmer and Sarah (Whitaker) Orr.
Dad lived a full life and was liked and respected by all who knew him. He served honorably during World War II for 11 years in the service of his country. He was awarded two bronze stars and one silver star. He saw combat in many of the major battles in the South Pacific including Midway, Tinian, Siapan and the Philippines. Dad had a great love for family and was always proud of his children and grandchildren. Dad loved his job painting high steel. He was known as one of the finest steeplejacks in the California area. He loved the desert and swimming in the ocean and he loved to go fishing in the Price area with his son and son-in-laws. He also loved animals. His sense of humor and compassion for others will be greatly missed.
De Los is survived by wife, Alice Orr of Price; son, Patrick (Susan) Orr of Tooele; two daughters, Kathleen (Rick) Price and Debbie (Steve) Meyer, both of Price; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Betty Hobbs of Palmer, Alaska; brothers, Jay and Wayne Orr of California. Preceded in death by parents; son, Lormer Orr; and brother, Thomas Orr.
Services will be private.
Dad, we love you and will miss you. We are glad your suffering is over and you are happy and in a better place.
Jon Marrs
ROGERS, MINN./PRICE – Jon Christian Marrs passed unexpectedly on Dec. 19, 2004.
Jon graduated in physiology from the University of California at Davis. He worked for Baxter Pharmaceutical Oakland, Calif. He later moved to Minnesota where for the last six years he worked at ELA Medical, most recently as a senior clinical evaluation manager. His work and ethics were deeply appreciated. Jon was a deeply caring man who touched the lives of family, friends and co-workers. His many thoughtful gifts of kindness live on as tribute and reminder. He is greatly missed from our lives. We have been blessed by our time with him. We know that he is at peace and continue to love him dearly.
Jon is survived by parents, Jim and Jeanne; brother, Jeff and wife, Daun, children, Alexander and Briana Rose; brother, Jerry, wife, Teresa, son, Scott; grandparents, Norma C. Marrs and Woodrow and Erma Pilling; aunts, uncles, great many cousins and many dear friends, especially Tex and Diane Cuabo and their children, Allison and Austin.
A memorial service will be held at Ascension St. Matthews Church, 522 North Homestead Blvd., Price, on Dec. 30, at 11 a.m., and will be followed by a time of fellowship for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association in Jon’s memory.
Paul Veillard
HIAWATHA/SALT LAKE CITY – Paul J. Veillard, 76, passed away Feb. 20, 2004.
He was born Sept. 26, 1927 in Salt Lake City to Paul Mark Veillard and Nettie Lindsay Veillard.
He spent his early years in the small coal mining town of Hiawatha. His high school was the Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant. After graduating in 1945, Paul joined the Navy and served aboard the U.S.S. Curtiss. When the war ended, he attended the University of Utah and graduated in 1951 with a bachelor of science degree in geology.
During this time he met the love of his life, Billie Bridge and the two were married in 1952. The ceremony took place at the old log church at Moose, Wyo., a scenic part of Jackson Hole.
The following year the happy couple moved to Seattle, Wash. Paul worked for some years for Blue Cross, then took his sales skills to industrial supplies. He really enjoyed his visits to dams, mines, processors and powerhouses throughout the Northwest, solving problems and making friends.
His family came first, raising four children, helping to build the family home, landscaping the yard (known to neighbors as “Paul’s park”), and driving thousands of miles with a tent trailer in tow looking for the next camping adventure.
Paul is survived by wife, Billie; daughter, three sons and four grandchildren.
His family will miss Paul’s sense of humor, his outgoing personality and his friends manner. We fondly remember those many camping trips and sitting around the campfire with Dad playing his harmonica.

Ralph O’Neil
PRICE – Ralph Crapo O’Neil, age 79, passed away Dec. 23, 2004 at his home in Price.
He was born Sept. 1, 1925 in Roosevelt, to Vaun Alexander and Estella Crapo O’Neil. Ralph married Norma Jean McMullin Dec. 17, 1948 in Ballard. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, especially with his wife, children and grandchildren.
As an active member of the LDS Church he served in numerous callings and most especially enjoyed serving with his wife in the Manti LDS Temple Baptistry. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the South Pacific during World War II.
Ralph is survived by wife, Norma of Price; children, Greg and Cheryl O’Neil of Green River, Wyo.; Laurie and Sheldon Taylor of Cleveland; Randy and Lori O’Neil of Ferron; and Doug O’Neil of Ferron; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Floyd and wife, Shauna; sisters, Vera Bruno; Myra and husband, Louis Ungerman; and sister-in-law, Thora O’Neil. Preceded in death by parents; and one brother, Richard.
Funeral services were Dec. 27 in the Price North LDS Stake Center. Burial, Cliffview Cemetery, under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
