Steven Nelson
PRICE – Steven J. “Pops” Nelson, age 55, passed away peacefully on Nov. 18 2004 after a courageous lifelong battle with Fabry disease.
Steven was born Feb. 27, 1949 in Price to Gladys Irene Stevenson and Lyle J. Nelson. Married his sweetheart and eternal companion, Candace Lynn Holman, on Aug. 19, 1972 in Klamath Falls, Ore. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Aug. 18, 1978.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Family was everything to this gentle man whose favorite time was spent with his devoted wife and four beautiful daughters, who loved and spoiled their father.
He blessed us with his strength, wisdom and humor.
Papa Nelson was greatly loved by his six grandchildren and will be fondly remembered by those whose lives he touched.
Steven is survived by loving wife, Candy, West Valley City; daughters, Tami (Steven) Lence, West Jordan; Michelle (James) Fowler, West Valley City; Heather (Aaron) Flater, West Valley City; and Christy (Nathan) Flater, Herriman; six wonderful grandchildren; father, Lyle J. Nelson, Elmo; brothers, Robert (Beverly) Nelson, Price; and Randy (Tonya) Nelson, Elmo; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Steven was preceded in death by mother, Gladys Irene Nelson; and brother, Roger Alan Nelson.
Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 22, at the Copperhill 5th LDS Ward building.

John Cole
CARBONVILLE – John Edward Cole, 73, passed away Nov. 20, 2004 at Castleview Hospital in Price.
He was born July 1, 1931 to John Henry and Iva Laura Olsen Cole in Altonah. He married Theda Rose Barnes of Evanston, Wyo., on May 23, 1953 in Carbonville.
John was a member of the U.S. Army and served in Korea.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
His family meant everything to him and he enjoyed building swings, merry-go-rounds and sandboxes for them to play on.
John made sure his family had a good vacation every year, usually to California.
He loved all children and did everything he could to make them happy and they all loved him in return. He always made sure his children were well provided for and he loved to take them fishing at Moon Lake.
His whole life revolved around his family.
John is survived by loving wife, Theda of Carbonville; children, Marilyn Rose (Bert) Hadden of Price; Debra Ann Hunt of Helper; Roger of Price; Dale Edwards (Lawanna) Cole of Roosevelt; Susan Jean (Billy) Martinez of Carbonville; Darrel Glen Cole of Carbonville; Jennifer Jorgensen of Elsinore; 26 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Ruby (Lynn) Morrison of Payson; and three brothers, Rudy (Joyce) Draper of Salt Lake City; Frank (Betty) Smith of Council, Idaho; and Chall (Lois) Smith of St. Louis, Mo. Preceded in death by parents; daughter-in-law, Denise Wilde Cole; great-grandson, D’Artagnan Braden Martinez; sister and brother-in-law, Arda (Neldon) Oliver; and brother, Lyle Cole.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, Nov. 24, noon, at Fausett Mortuary in Price, where a viewing will be held one hour prior to service. In addition a viewing will be held Nov. 23 from 7 to 8 p.m.with the family present and will remain open until 9 p.m. for friends and family to call. Burial, Price City Cemetery.
Frances Bustos
PRICE – Our loving wife, mom and grandma, Frances Bustos, passed away peacefully on Nov. 18, 2004 in Greensboro, N.C.
She was born Apri. 4, 1917 in Las Vegas, N.M., to Juan and Ignacita Blair. She married Dionicio “Danny” Bustos on Dec. 26, 1945.
They set up residence in Price, where they lived for the last 40 years.
She worked as a home health aide in Carbon and Emery counties and received much joy in being able to assist those who needed care.
Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by loving husband, Danny, who tenderly cared for her during her struggles with Alzheimer’s; children, Aniano Trujillo, Camas, Wash.; Roberta (Donald) Coburn, Greenboro, N.C.; Donna (Roger) Gonzales, Taylorsville; Dean (Sandy) Bustos, Brighton, Colo.; Margaret (Jose) Larracuente, Salt Lake City; Felix (Angie)Bustos, Alcalde, N.M.; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by former husband, Aniano Trujillo; three sisters; two brothers, one daughter, Ruby Miles; one grandchildren, Jerry Larracuente; and two great-grandchildren, Natalie Williams and Ashlie Kirkham.
The family expresses a special thanks to Roberta for her dedicated and special care of Mom.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 27, 11 a.m., at the Valley Assembly of God Church, 3818 West 4700 South. Family and friends may visit Friday, 6 to 8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Saturday, 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
Harry Krebs Jr.
SUNNYSIDE/SALT LAKE CITY – Harry Lee Krebs Jr., age 84, passed away Nov. 20, 2004 in Salt Lake City.
He was always worried about the things he didn’t do or the things he did wrong. He didn’t remember all the wonderful things he did, but God will.
He helped care for his brothers and sisters.
Served honorably during World War II.
He dearly loved his deceased wife, Mary Jensen Krebs. Provided well for his children, Mary Lee Williams, Larry (Lucile) Krebs and Walter Steve Krebs
He was a hard worker, loved coal mining and took pride in his home and town.
He had a wonderful sense of humor, doing tricks for his grandchildren, Rick, Lisa, Jenny and eight great-grandchildren.
He taught us so much about fishing, hunting and being a mechanic.
We will dearly miss him.
Funeral service Tuesday, Nov. 23, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s one hour prior to service. Interment, Moroni City Cemetery at 3 p.m.
Glenn Long
EAST CARBON – Glenn Arthur Long, 90, died Nov. 12, 2004 at the West Park Long Term Care Center in Cody, Wyo.
He was born May 21, 1914 on the family ranch at Dunkley, Colo., the second of three sons born to Benjamin Arthur Long and Nellie Marie Booth Long. He married Louise Robidoux on May 24, 1940.
He served in the Army and was stationed in Forth Lewis, Wash.
He lived on the ranch and attended a country school at Dunkley until he was 14, when his family moved to Hayden, Colo., where he graduated from Hayden Union High School.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 137, East Carbon for 46 years.
He worked 26 years for Kaiser Steel Company as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator at the Sunnyside coal mine.
He had cattle and ranched for years in Colorado and Utah. He belonged to the Sunnyside Riding Club.
Survived by wife of 64 years; nephews, William Long of Cody, Wyo.; and Gregg Long of Boise, Idaho; and sister-in-law, Bernice Long of Cody, Wyo. He was preceded in death by parents; daughter, Peggy Marie; and brothers, Walter Lee and Phil.
