On Nov. 13 the Carbon High School divers traveled to Bear River High School for a qualifying meet.
In the competition they were up against 10 other schools. Michael Glasson and Philip Noes represented Carbon’s boys team. Both did a good job finishing 3rd and 8th individually. As a result of their placement Carbon took second in the boys part of the meet. Neither of them failed at any of their dives which makes them both eligible for the state meet this winter. But they have some more work to do because they must be in the top 24 in points and go to at least three meets to make it to state.
In the girls division Lyn D’ Anderson placed 6th and Mikaleen Loveless placed 9th in the individual competition. They placed third as a team.
“We have some other divers on the team who were not quite ready to compete yet,” said Coach Stewart Foster of the early season meet. “I believe they will all be ready for the next meet at American Fork in December.”
