Jay West placed first under both judges in the yearling lounge line class. |
A local couple took to honors in the Panorama Fall Futurity held in Nephi on Sept. 18.
Jay West took first place under both judges in the yearling lounge line class. Entries were judged for conformation, manners and training on the lounge line at the walk, trot and lope on the proper leads in both directions with a two minute time limit. West’s filly is Sirs Whispering Pine, an American Quarter Horse.
Barbara West took first in the 2 and 3-year-old western pleasure class, also under both judges. This class was judged on conformation, training of smooth rhythm of gait and riders ability while riding in a walk, trot and lope in both directions.
Barbara West rode TLP Pine Bar Peppy, a 3-year-old gelding and full brother to Sirs Whispering Pine.
The futurity takes place every year and horses out of the stallions in the Panorama Stallion service auction are eligible to compete. There are over 30 stallions involved throughout the state.
