John Temples

Carbon County musician John Temples recently won 2004 Utah Old Time Fiddlers Association banjo championship. The competition was presented Aug. 21 at Weber State University in Ogden.
In addition to winning the 2004 contest, Temples captured the statewide title in 2000 and 2002. He has played the banjo for 40 years.
The association has some 800 members dedicated to promoting the performance and enjoyment of old-time acoustic music.
The local chapter meets for a jam session the first Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. at the senior citizens center in Price. Sessions are free and open to the public.
