Helper Junior High School officials believe that healthy activities involve students and their grandparents, as well as their parents. As part of Red Ribbon Week, the guidance program at HJH, under the direction of Mrs. Sparks sponsored a grandparent’s breakfast last Friday.
In welcoming the students and their grandparents Mr. Montoya, principal recognized the many grandparents present and told them how important they are to the success of the young students at the school. “Helper Junior High is a cornerstone of the town,” he said and we rely on the grandparents to help raise the children.
In addition to breakfast Mr. Hughes jazz band presented several numbers. This is the fifth year the event has been held. Montoya pointed out that over half of the studennts at HJH are involved in the music programs.
