EAST CARBON – Dorothy Dean Gibbs Jackson, age 80, passed away Aug. 7, 2003 at home while surrounded by her family.
She was born May 18, 1923 in Jefferson County, Ala,. to John Thomas and Miriam C. Gray Gibbs. Married Earl C. Jackson Nov. 8, 1947 in Birmingham, Ala. He died Feb. 15, 1998.
Dorothy was a longtime resident of East Carbon, where she was a member of the East Carbon Community Church.
She had a great love for angels and she spent many hours collecting angels and pictures of her family.
She enjoyed embroidery work and will be dearly missed by her family and many longtime friends.
Survived by three daughters and three sons, Hilda “Lyn” (Frank) Farnham, Antioch, Calif.; Ronald E. Jackson, East Carbon; Myra Kay (Bob) Leach, Martinez, Calif.; William E. (Rebecca) Jackson, Sunnyside; James D. (Eileen) Jackson, American Fork; Tammy Raye (Ed) Watson, Salt Lake City; sisters, Inez Latham, Birmingham, Ala.; Audry Watkins, Bessemer, Ala.; brother, William (Dorothy Nell) Gibs, Bayview, Ala.; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and many self- adopted children and grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; and son, Robert Dale Jackson.
Funeral service, Tuesday, Aug. 12, 1 p.m., at East Carbon Community Church. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Monday evening, 7 to 9 p.m., and at the church Tuesday one hour prior to service. Interment, Valley View Cemetery, Sunnyside.


Clair King


PRICE – Clair Gilbert King, 75, passed away Aug. 8, 2003.
Born Oct. 6, 1927 to Fountain Forest and Mary Celesta Lee King in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Proud truck driver and substance abuse counselor. He worked for Carbon County Green Thumb program at the food bank and senior citizen center.
He was a faithful volunteer in 12-step recovery, reaching the newcomer through his experience, strength and hope.
He is survived by his children, Mary Kathleen Parkinson, Robert Lee, Dennis Jay, Roger Dwayne, Karen Lynn and Tracy Neal King; brothers, Lloyd, Max and Wayne King; sister, LaRae Hill. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Roy, Leon, Quinton, Teddy, Don Sr.; sister, Mary; and son, Craig LaMont King.
A celebration of Clair’s life will take place Saturday, Aug. 16, 3 p.m., at the United Methodist Church, located at 200 E. Main, Price.
Family members would like to thank his dear friend, Carolshene Powell, AA & NA recovery family and Castle Country Care Center and Fausett’s Mortuary for their love and devotion during Clair’s last days.
