Members of the Northern Heights major league championship team display their trophy during the annual International Days parade. The team will compete this week in Roosevelt in the little world series of WBBA.

The Northern Heights all-star major league WBBA team captured their second consecutive championship title last week and secured themselves a spot in the little world series in Roosevelt.
After completing the major league championship tournament, Northern Heights found themselves entering the final round of action undefeated. This meant that their opponent, Price National would have to win two games back to back in order to advance to the world series.
Northern Heights moved into the championship game and competed well and captured the title by defeating Price National, 13-10.
During the competition, home runs played a major role in the outcome of the game. Each team hit three homers in the contest which wasn’t decided until the final out.
Brock Morley, Carson Franklin and Levi Graff homered for Northern Heights while Levi Theorone hit two for Price National and Chris Coleman also hit one for the Price team.
Northern Heights did post an early lead by scoring seven runs in the first two innings and did not score again until the fifth. A single tally at that time tied the game at 8-8.
Price National then assumed a 10-9 lead after five innings of play. In the top half of the sixth, Northern Heights came close to putting the game out of reach for Price National by scoring four runs for the 13-10 lead that would eventually end the ball game.
Each team utilized more than one pticher during the championship game. Northern Heights kicked off the game with Brandon LaVerne pitching. LaVerne was later relieved by Jason Molinar in the fifth inning.
Price National started with Chris Coleman who gave way to Travis Failor in the first inning and Bryce Damron came on in the fifth frame to finish up for the team.
The Northern Heights team traveled to Roosevelt August 4 where they participated in a practice session on the world series tourney field.
A home run derby, base running and throwing accuracy contests were conducted Monday afternoon as well.
Northern Heights has been placed in the B pool of the 12 team meet along with Hacienda Heights of Southern California, and a team from Morgan and Highland.
The Carbon County team will participate in their first game of the little world series against Highland and action will begin at 12:30 p.m.
Northern Heights will then move on to compete against Hacienda Heights at 9 a.m., Thursday morning and will wrap up the week by competing at 3 p.m., August 7 against Morgan.
The top four teams from each pool will qualify for the semifinals to be conducted in Roosevelt beginning Friday.
Even though not every team will qualify for the final games, each team will be allowed to compete in a consolation bracket throughout the weekend.
