The youth version of the Price city council was sworn into office in June. Included in the group this year are Jennifer Bedont, mayor; Danielle Rigby, Bennie Petersen, anna Gramlick, Andrew Bjork, and Jacob Denison.
Elected by their peers, the students totally mirror the council. Besides the elected mayor and five councilmembers they also have staff and chief of police.
Each council person is required to head up an event or dance, such as working on International Days or working at the skate park. Other key projects include painting the wave pool, cleaning up the parks, redoing the horseshoe pits and painting fire hydrants.
This year’s service project includes a fundraiser for the ronald McDonald house.
