Chandler Pearson and Tyler Nelson work together to send an Orem runner to the dugout during the team’s final season game earlier this month in Helper. After defeating Orem, Helper secured a spot in the state tournament which is scheduled to begin August 2. The local team will face number three ranked Bear River at noon in Layton and will move on to compete Monday in Ogden. The state finals is a double elimination tourney which pits the top 16 teams in the state against one another. Last year, Helper finished second in the state and hope to capture the title this year.
