Adult Probation and Parole regional administrator, Scott Henrie presents Carbon County Sheriff deputies Tory Christiansen and Chris Basso; Price city police officer, Dave Cartwright and local probation and parole agent, Jeff Wood with silver medal of valor awards. Each year, the Utah Department of Corrections conducts an awards ceremony and this year, the Price office issued the silver medal awards to the local officers for their response to a shooting call that occurred earlier this year. The award ranks as one of the highest recognitions that the corrections department hands out. Along with this award, the local probation and parole office issued the public service award to the Emery County Sheriff’s office for their support to the local agency. The awards ceremony took place July 23 at the Carbon Country Club.
