Cancer survivors take the first lap Friday night to kick off the 2003 Relay for Life.
The fundraiser took place at the Carbon High School track, allowing the survivors as well as supporters of the American Cancer Society event to walk in support of research and treatment of the disease.
Luminaries lined the track in memory of victims who have died from the disease. All proceeds from the luminariers will be donated for cancer research and development aimed toward finding a cure.
