Jessie Holdaway
PRICE – Jessie Ann Rasmussen Holdaway, age 87, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 24, 2003 of natural causes at the home of her son surrounded by loved ones.
She was born Jan. 23, 1916 in Price to Lawrence M. and Mary Jane Olsen Rasmussen. She married Harold E. Holdaway and was later divorced.
An avid reader, storyteller and writer, Jessie’s work has been published in journals, historical documents and newspapers throughout the west.
She could entertain young and old alike reciting the events that unfolded in her life and the lives of her dear family.
She was blessed with a rich heritage and loved her hometown of Price, by whom she will be deeply missed.
As a young woman, she fulfilled a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the New England States. Her church service continued throughout her entire life, blessing the lives of many.
Jessie was involved in her community and was best known for her service as the Carbon County treasurer for two decades, retiring at age 79.
She was an incredible mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, truly loved by all.
She was a perfect example of selfless service, generosity, creativity, with a witty sense of humor.
She was a true joy to know and love.
Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Maureen Holdaway; grandchildren, Laurie and Christopher Meacham, Kristin and Ben Francis, David and Jessica Holdaway, Brian and Jessica K. Holdaway and Mark Holdaway; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jemma Meacham, Hayley and Alyssa Francis; and Jackson Holdaway; sister and brother-in-law, Jane Marie and Jack Cook; sister-in-law, Norma Rasmussen; and brother-in-law, Paul Naturale. Preceded in death by brothers, Arthur and Morris Rasmussen; sisters, Beverly Holbrook and Barbara Naturale; son, Jon Reagan Holdaway; and daughter, Jessie Lynn Holdaway.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 31, 11 a.m., at the Price 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 479 North 100 East, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Fausett Mortuary will be opened Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for those who wish to sign the register. Interment, Price City Cemetery.

Jeremiah Johnson
CASTLE DALE – Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, officer and friend, Jeremiah Kirk Johnson died May 27, 2003 in a traffic accident on duty for the Emery County Sheriff Department.
He was born July 1, 1972 in Rexburg, Idaho, to Randy G. and Elizabeth “Betsy” Kirk Johnson. He married Lisa Marie Simons in the Manti LDS Temple Dec. 16, 1995.
Jeremiah was a 1990 graduate of Emery High School and received his associate’s degree from CEU.
He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served an honorable mission to the Guayaquil Ecuador North Mission.
He loved his family and anything that had to do with the sea.
He was a WWII history buff, an expert marksman, enjoyed camping in Yellowstone with his family and was an avid reader.
He had been a deputy with the Emery County Sheriff’s Department for over six years.
He is survived his wife, Lisa; children, Trevor (5), Noah (3) and Sydney (1), all of Castle Dale. Also survived by his parents, Randy and Betsy Johnson of Castle Dale; and wife’s parents, Morris and Luan Simons of Spanish Fork; brothers and sisters, Jennifer (Ronald) Jensen, Jessica (Conrad) Anderson, Joshua Johnson, all of Castle Dale, Jacob Johnson and Janelle Johnson, both of Washington, D.C.; and grandparents, Tedd and Betty Johnson of Preston, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents.
Friends may call for a visitation Friday, May 30, at the Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale, 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Castle Dale LDS Stake Center Saturday, May 31, at 1 p.m., with visitation an hour prior at the church. Interment will follow in the Castle Dale Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Frankie England
GLENDALE, Ariz.- Frankie Virginia Curtis England, 82, born July 6, 1920 in Woodside, entered into rest May 1, 2003 in Glendale, Ariz.
Her love for her family was felt in everything she did.
Frankie can rest now with no worry. She can watch from above and see what a truly remarkable job she did with her life.
Survived by eight children; Steven Diumenti, Frank Diu-menti, Fred Diumenti, Catherine (Diumenti) Houston, Mack McDonald, Pat McDonald, David McDonald and Della Moody; brother, Connie Curtis; sisters, Kathleen Ball and Olena Marchello; 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, who will truly miss their Nanny and Grandma Frankie. Frankie will go home to Utah to be with them and also her mother and father, Estella and Joseph Curtis; brothers Max, George and Russell Curtis; and sisters, Delcina Colosimo and Wilma Curtis, who preceded her in death.
Frankie was deeply loved by her family and will live forever in their hearts. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
Memorial service Monday, June 2, 11 a.m., Cleveland City Hall, 35 South 100 West.
Jimmy Timothy
KENILWORTH – Jimmy LeRoy Timothy, age 39, passed away quietly at his mother’s home in Arizona on May 22, 2003 after a difficult battle with cancer.
Jimmy died like he lived, hard. He spent most of his short life looking for purpose and inner peace.
It is believed that, in the end, he has at least found peace.
His ashes will be returned to his childhood home to be set free, where he played as a child before he lost track of his boyhood dreams.
The oldest child of Joyce Johnson and Edwin Timothy, he is survived by sons, Jayson, Mathew and Joey; brothers, Benny and Randy; and baby sister, Sharon.
Leah Winters
PRICE – Our beloved Leah Stevens Winters, 81 of Price, passed away May 26, 2003 in Price.
She was born Nov. 8, 1921 in Mount Carmel to Hyrum and Mabel May Spencer Stevens. She married Boyce Rex Cyrus Winters in Castle Dale on May 15, 1940 and the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed crafts and quilting.
She is survived by her children, Allen (Marlene) Winters, Fern (James) Jentges, Lawrence Alonzo (Margaret) Winters and Boyce Cyrus Winters; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; brother, Leo (Lucille) Stevens; and sister, Nina (Claude) Black. She was preceded in death by parents; seven brothers and sisters; husband; and sons, Doyle Rex Winters and a stillborn boy.
Friends may call for a visitation at Fausett Mortuary in Price Wednesday, June 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. A viewing will be at Anderson Funeral Home in American Fork on Thursday, June 5, from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 1 p.m., with interment to follow in the American Fork City Cemetery.
