It was an afternoon to remember and also an afternoon to honor.
The annual volunteer recognition luncheon, was hosted by the Carbon County Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) on Saturday, April 26. There were more than 100 people in attendance and upwards to 220 Carbon County volunteers were recognized and honored for over 27,000 hours of service this past year.
Rebecca Mason, executive director of the program expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the numerous volunteers and how these thousands of hours help over 20 agencies and programs in Carbon County.
“We can’t tell you enough how much we appreciate each one of you,” she said, explaining that the recognition event, “is our way of telling you thank you for all of the volunteer time you put back into our community.” It is also a way of welcoming new volunteers who have just started.
