Hazel Olsen
PRICE – Our loving mother and grandmother, Hazel May Tanner Olsen, age 87, passed away April 15, 2003 at her home.
She was born Aug. 27, 1915 in Roosevelt to George Albert and Emma Viola Spencer Tanner. Married George V. Olsen Jan. 24, 1934 in Duchesne. He died Sept. 1, 1987.
Hazel loved collecting unique trinkets and dolls. She loved growing beautiful flowers and especially playing games with her special friends from Mountain View Meadows.
She will be dearly missed by her family and many wonderful friends.
Survived by her daughters, Viola (Roy) Tesch, Price; Valene Olsen and Spud Collins, East Carbon; three grandsons and five granddaughters, George, Cherri, Mark, Steven, Lori, Karen, Shanna and Shelly; 14 great-grandchildren; and brother, Frank Tanner, Vernal. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Zenna Mae Winn; and 10 brothers and sisters.
Graveside service Saturday, April 19, 11 a.m, Mountain View Cemetery, Helper. Friends are welcome at Mitchell Funeral Home daily.
John Eaquinta
HELPER/POINT LOMA, Calif. – John Eaquinta, a resident of Point Loma, Calif., passed away April 6, 2003.
He was born April 9, 1949 in Helper to Joe and Elaine Eaquinta.
John worked in the Marine Industry for over 16 years. He and his wife, Korla, traveled all over the West Coast by sailboat. He loved the water.
John was also a longtime resident of Las Vegas, Nev., where he was a champion swimmer/diver and a musician. He graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1967.
John was also a resident of Boulder, where rumor has it, the fishing was very good!
John is survived by his loving family; wife, Korla; daughter, Logan, 16; sister, Karen Sharkey; niece, Keeper, 18; brother-in-law, Bill Sharkey; mother, Elaine, 86, all of St. George; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He will truly be missed. He was our greatest adventure!
A memorial service is scheduled Friday, April 11, at 3 p.m. at Chapel First Church of the Nazarene, 3901 Lomaland, 92106, at entrance of Point Loma Nazarene University, Calif.
