Dan Porter


EAST CARBON – Dan Crock-er Porter, age 79, passed away April 12, 2003 in Salt Lake City.
Born Oct. 8, 1923 in Grand Junction, Colo., to Leman E. and Alta Marie Crocker Porter. Married Roberta Artt Oct. 21, 1945 in Grand Junction, Colo. She died April 1, 1996.
Dan was a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in East Carbon. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Member of the Masonic Lodge 55 in Grand Junction, Colo., for 50 years, as well as a member of the Price Elks Lodge 1550.
Retired from Carbon County Railway in 1982, where he was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen.
Survived by three sons, Dan (Elaine) Porter, Salt Lake City; Darrell (Nola) Porter, East Carbon; Mike (Mary) Porter, East Carbon; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Warren (Faye) Porter, Grand Junction, Colo.; and one sister, JoAnn Fifield, Grand Junction, Colo. Preceded in death by parents; stepmother, Elma Seller; and brother, Phillip Porter.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Christus Marion Center, Garden Terrace, and the Residence CareSource Hospice of Salt Lake City.
Memorial service Thursday, April 17, 10 a.m., Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, East Carbon. Additional Masonic service by Grand Junction Masonic Lodge 55 F&AM at Orchard Mesa Cemetery, located at 269 26 1/4 Road in Grand Junction at 3 p.m., under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home of Price.


Sky Johnson


GREEN RIVER – Our beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and best friend to all, Skya Vaniece Adams Johnson, age 25, passed away April 8, 2003 in Green River.
She was born May 31, 1977 in Salt Lake City to Gilbert G. Adams and Niki Watts. Married Keith C. Johnson Feb. 19, 1994 in Green River.
Skya loved riding horses, dancing, camping and karate.
She took great pride in making meals for others and everyone around her was more important to her than herself.
She loved swimming, karaoke, doing hair and makeup for others.
Skya loved to make people laugh and everyone enjoyed her friendship.
There is no way to put into words how much she will be missed.
Survived by husband, Keith C. Johnson; daughters, Dallice Janae Johnson and Taylor Rae Johnson, all of Green River; mother, Niki (Dale) Beesley, Mesa, Ariz.; father, Gilbert Adams, Overton, Texas; sister, Zaneel (Jeremy) Anderson, Salt Lake City; grandmothers, Allene Spadafora, Green River; Irene Gale, Skelly, Idaho; Inez Stock, Green River; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lenard (Irene) Johnson, Green River; 14 loving nieces and nephews; 11 aunts and uncles; five brothers-in-law and many cousins and loving friends who were as close as family.
Funeral service was Saturday, April 12,Green River LDS Ward. Interment, Elgin Cemetery, Green River, under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home of Price.


Hazel Jensen


HUNTINGTON – Our loving wife, mother and grandmother, Hazel Ruth Rowley Jensen, age 57, passed away April 13, 2003 in Ferron.
She was born March 14, 1946 in Price to Charles H. and Ruth L. Lemmon Rowley. Married Richard L. Jensen April 2, 1966 in Cleveland.
Member of the LDS Church. Hazel was a longtime resident of Cleveland and Huntington, where she graduated from Emery High School.
She will be dearly missed by her family and many longtime friends.
Survived by husband, Richard Jensen, Huntington; daughters, Dana Bjarnson, Mapleton; Sharon Jensen, Huntington; son, Kyle Jensen, Kaysville; two grandchildren, Ashlie and Christie Bjarnson. Preceded in death by parents.
Graveside service Wednesday, April 16, noon, Huntington City Cemetery, under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home of Price.
