Carbon athletes selected to compete in Australia. Carbon High seniors, Tyson Hackwell and Joe Moynier were recently invited to compete in the annual Down Under Hoops Classic in Australia this July.
After finishing their final year with the Dinos, the two athletes look forward to furthering their basketball careers by participating in the event.
Moynier finished the season ranked fourth in three-point field goals and eighth in scoring in the Class 3A standings.
Hackwell lead the Dinos this year as their point guard and offered his ball handling skills along with his shooting accuracy from the long distance line.
In order to compete in the event, both athletes will gather donations from local residents and businesses in order to defray the cost of the trip.
The trip is an opportunity which most high school athletes will never have the chance to experience.
