The Price contingent of the 1457th Engineer Combat Battalion were busy packing up equipment and gear for what on Thursday was the possibility of a call up after the unit had been placed on alert. A weekend trip to Camp Williams for “soldiers readiness” almost solidified the fact that the unit would be leaving town soon. On Monday, while nothing official from the National Guard had been confirmed, the fact that the unit will be leaving town this week for Fort Lewis, Wash. is nearly a sure thing. As of press time the exact departure time was uncertain, but it will probably occur on Wednesday or Thursday morning.
