A light snow squall passes through the Miller Creek area last week, demonstrating how the grip of an early winter season can catch the Carbon County community off guard. During the last few years, the autumn seasons have been mild and prolonged, making it easy for people to forget that old man winter is right around the bend. In the past, three crops of hay were common. With the way the weather has been, four crops have become the rule for some farmers and even five for a few. The climate forecast predicts that, in the next few days, the weather will moderate from the cold night time temperatures the area has been experiencing. But about the beginning of next week, wet weather with possibility of more than snow flurries should be in the offing.
