Members of the Carbon County Search and Rescue paid tribute to Jim Simone Sept. 27 during the birthday celebration at the Price Senior Citizen’s Center. Witnessing the presentation were 137 of Simone’s peers.
Commander Frank Pugliese, past State Commander Dale Swanson, Quarter Master Laurie Bowman, and Price City Mayor Joe Piccolo presented the award to Simone in appreciation of 30 years of service to Carbon County and Carbon County Search and Rescue.
Simone served in the sheriff’s mounted possee for over 30 years, was a member of D.A.V., Veteran’s of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion.
“Jim is our American Hero here in Carbon County,” stated Swanson in the presentation, adding, “he has donated most of his life to service and people.”
Mayor Piccolo added, “Price is proud to be able to call Jim a resident.”
Commander Pugliese summed up his thoughts by adding, “I admire Jim for all he has done. He has my utmost respect and admiration.”
