Despite the hot summer weather Carbon County is currently experiencing, it will not be too long until the roads across the canyon become slick again. Several sections of U.S. Highway 6 are scheduled to undergo construction before the winter season arrives. Along with the three projects slated to start this week, a fourth has been added that will begin July 29. Crews will start working on the 17-mile section of the highway from Colton to Helper. The project will include roto milling, lane levelingl, overlaying and chip seal. The contractor, Geneva Rock, expects to complete the fourth U.S. 6 highway improvement project by Nov. 15.
