Marion Poulsen


RICHFIELD – Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Edyth Marion Allison Poulsen, age 89, died June 3, 2002 in Price.
She was born Jan. 1, 1913 in Ogden, a daughter of Karl and Edith Wilson Allison. She graduated from Odgen High School. She married Everett Crowther Poulsen Sept. 19, 1933 in Ogden. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple Feb. 7, 1970. Mr. Poulsen died May 20, 2002.
Marion was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Relief Society. She served as an election judge for 45 years for the Sevier County Republican Party.
Marion loved to travel. She was an excellent cook, especially could make delicious pies. She loved her family and enjoyed camping at Fish Lake cabin with her family and friends. She also belonged to several bridge clubs.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia and Lynn D. Naylor of Price; granddaughters, Marin and Steve Fogg of Bountiful, Melinda and Kim Burbank of Tooele; great-grandchildren, Sarah White and Mark White. She was preceded in death by a brother, Leland Allison.
Graveside services will be Friday, June 7, at 11 a.m. in the Richfield City Cemetery. Friends may call for a viewing Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services at Springer Turner Funeral Home, 260 N. 400 West, Richfield. Burial will be in Richfield City Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thanks and appreciation to Harmony House in Helper, Parkdale Care Center in Price, the Community Nursing Services-Hospice, Dr. Sterling Potter and Castleview Hospital for the tender and loving care with mother.


Lenna Healy


PRICE – Lenna V. Oliver Hamilton Healy, age 86, passed away peacefully June 4, 2002.
She was born Feb. 4, 1916 in Elmo to Jobe and Margaret Petty Oliver. Married Archie Lavar Hamilton. He died May 30, 1949. Married Homer Healy. He died July 9, 1983.
She is survived by her sons, Archie (Melanie) Hamilton, Price; Scott (Vicki) Healy, Salt Lake City; John (Jolene) Healy, Phoenix, Ariz.; sister, Rela (Jim) Sherman, Huntington; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Lenna was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Carollyn Dayes.
Funeral service Friday, June 7, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Friday one hour prior to service. Friends are welcome at Mitchell Funeral Home daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Carbon County Humane Society, 1419 West Valley View Drive, Wellington, UT 84542.


Sherald Blackburn


ORANGEVILLE – Sherald Dee Blackburn, age 63, passed away at his home June 1, 2002.
He was born May 22, 1939 in Clawson to Rulon and Ila Cox Blackburn. He married Adela Jean Benjamin March 31, 1979 in Price.
He worked as an equipment operator in construction and had many hobbies, including fishing, hunting, animals of all kinds, the outdoors, one on one visits with friends and his dogs.
He is survived by wife; and children, Sheryl “Sherry” (Ryke) Olsen and Ricky (Stacy) Blackburn, both of Santa Clara; Doug (Patty) Blackburn, Castle Dale; Kevin (Laura) Blackburn, Spring Glen. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sister, Louise (Darrel) Price, Clawson; brother, Rulon (Carolyn) Blackburn, Roseville, Calif.; sister, Sandra (John) Justice, Clawson; Mike (Doris) Jensen, Clawson; and sister, Debbie (Frank) Schmidt, California.; stepfather, Frank Jensen, Clawson. Preceded in death by parents; and sister, Donna Jean Smith.
A celebration of his life will be Friday, June 7, at 11 a.m. at the Clawson park. At his request, burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name at Wells Fargo Bank in Castle Dale.


Robert J. Jones


FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. – Robert J. Jones, born Sept. 5, 1929 in Wellington to Lillian R. and Henry O. Jones, died May 26, 2002 at Fountain Valley, Calif., where he had resided since retiring from the United States Marine Corps after 30 years of dedicated service as a captain.
He served the calling of his enlistment with pride, many of the years overseas, seven in Vietnam and the others in Okinawa and Japan.
He married Tracie Hifer Dec. 30, 1950 in Virginia. Blessing this union are three daughters, Judy, Debbie and Sharon; a son, Robert Jr.; and two adopted sons, Joey and Christopher.
After retiring from the Marine Corps, he attended Long Beach College and received a degree in electronics. He was employed by GenRad Radio Corp., servicing large computer systems used by military bases and aircraft technologies.
During his later years, he was active as a scout leader and organizer for outdoor camping. Appreciation was shown at his funeral by the many scouts of all ages who were present.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Robert Jr., Joey and Christopher; daughters, Judy Sanders of Oregon; Sharon DeVahl and Debra Von Trapp of California; brothers, Lamar H. (Mabel) Jones, Utah; Julius Jones, Wyoming; Frank Jones, Idaho; sister, Dorothy (John) McMinimee, Colorado; 13 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Allen B. Jones.
Funeral services and interment were conducted Saturday, June 1, at Pacific View Memorial Park, located in Newport Beach, Calif.
