Special Olympic event canceled.
The Special Olympics which was scheduled for this month, has been canceled due to a lack of an adequate facility (track). Each school will hold a field day or other event for their respective athletes. All volunteers are appreciated for their willingness to assist. Those who have sent monetary contributions are assured that these funds will be used toward Special Olympic activities throughout the coming year, and toward our track and field games in 2003.
Former Carbon Dino recognized for superior season at the University of Utah.
Former Carbon High Dino Brady Martinez has had a successful freshmen year playing for the Ute baseball team. Martinez, who had a successful career at Carbon High as pitcher, looks to be on the road to success at the university. The Utes look forward to next season in which a winning season seems realistic with the returning first year players stepping up in their second college season.
