Those long bus rides across the state must be good for the East Carbon Lady Vikes. They continue to pile up victories against league opponents, even on the road.
Tuesday evening they went to Wendover and whipped the Lady Wildcats 55-31. It wasn’t the shellacking they gave the same team a couple of weeks ago on their home court, but the wind was still dominating.
East Carbon jumped out to a seven point lead at the end of the first quarter with a score of 17-5.
In the second period they doubled up the score for the quarter on the kids from Tooele County 16-8. The offense and defense were clicking as the Lady Vikes went into the locker rooms for a half time discussion.
The third and fourth periods were almost identical in scoring as the East Carbon girls scored 14 in each period and held Wendover to eight and 10 points respectively.
The Lady Vikings were led in scoring by Alaena Preston with 17. Preston appeared on the top 20 scoring list in the 1A classification this past week with a 13.0 average.
Thursday the 5-2 team travels to Tintic to take on the Miners in Region 18 action.
