The speaker for the general BEAR meeting on May 11 will be Rich Jones, operator and owner of the Sears Hometown Store in Price. He will speak about the future of his store, its operation and its relevance to the community.
His store on Carbon Avenue between Main Street and First North is not affiliated with Sears Holding Company. It belongs to Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, a separate company from Sears Holding which is struggling in many places. The only thing the two companies share at all are some brand names and the distribution chain for products.
The two were once affiliated, but they separated from each other in 2012.
The presentation will take place at the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center Alumni Room and it will start at 8 a.m. and last about one hour. The public is welcome.
Light refreshments will be served.
