The Carbon High swim team have kicked off an epic season with excellent individual and team performances. Coached by Kamra Davis and Stu Foster,they have brought together a powerhouse womens team and an strong mens team. Their cumulative efforts have garnered high 3A state rankings.
The women are currently ranked second in the 3A division 400 Relay with the time of 4 minutes 21.65 seconds and third in the 200 free relay.
One of the team leaders placing in the top 50 list for 3A female swimmers in the state is Megan Swasey, who ranked 14th in both the 200 individual medley (IM) and 200 free and 10th in the 50 free. Her goal for the season is to, “set a positive example for the team and keep improving my times at every meet.”
Sophomore Emily Jespersen and freshman Nicole Swasey are ranked 9th and 18th respectively in the 500 free.
Rylan Chamberlain leads the mens team ranking 13th in the 200 free, 9th in the fifty free and 9th in the 200 fly. Tyson Swasey in ranked 10th in the 100 back, 5th in 100 breaststroke and 12th in the 50 free. The men are rated 6th in the 200 free relay and 7th in 200 medley relay.
This year Carbon is stacked with phenomenal swimmers from the senior to freshman classes. Carbons next home meet will be on December 5th at 3:30 p.m. at the Price City Pool.
