SE Utah state parks add new recreation features

By Sun Advocate

Utah’s state parks in southeastern Utah have launched new recreational opportunities this summer including a disc golf course, rental RV and slacklines.
Green River State Park Golf Course offers a championship level disc golf course. The 18-hole course is challenging with lots of water hazards and natural features. The course is suitable for both experienced and novice players. Cost is $3 for nine holes; $5 for 18. Cart rental is $5 per person. Tee times are available by calling 435-564-8882.
Huntington State Park has installed five slacklines to those wanting a different sort of activity. A slackline is webbing that is tensioned between two anchor points and used like a tightrope. There are multiple courses including a 15- foot line with a step stool and hand line for balance and several lines up to 65- feet long.
Scofield State Park provides an alternative to tent camping with a 28-foot RV trailer available to reserve in the campground. The trailer sleeps eight people and has air conditioning, TV, DVD player, water and electricity. For pricing and availability, please call 435-448-9449.
