Playing the best basketball of their season, the Lady Eagles swept a pair from another team that had beaten them earlier in the season. They downed NIC by the scores of 70-90 and 85-68 to keep them solidly in fourth place.
The first half of the Friday night match-up was a seesaw affair and the teams went in to the locker room each with 37 points. CEU was the team that chose to step up and take control as they came out of the locker room on fire. They outscored NIC by 20 points to run away with the game.
Elisha Harris scored 19 points and six rebounds to lead the Eagles to the win. Staci Little was able to block 4 shots and pull in five rebounds.
The momentum continued on Saturday night with CEU jumping out to an 11 point first half lead. NIC tried to make a game of it in the second half, but the Eagles continued their solid defense to keep them in check. The Eagles expanded their lead and took the win by 17.
Halee Rasmussen had a good night as she led the Eagles with 17 points. Harris contributed 16. Little was the defensive force with 14 rebounds.It was a solid effort to beat the team who was sitting above them in the SWAC standings.
The team now has to travel up to take on Southern Idaho in their final regular season stand. They will then prepare to head to the SWAC tournament in March.
