Jeremy Latham goes up for a duce.

In a small but tough conference, a trip to play Colorado Northwestern is almost a treat. In the past few years CEU can count on a pair of wins when they head east. This year was no exception. The Eagles downed CNCC 93-80 and 109-90 over the weekend.
On Friday night CEU shot almost 50 percent from the field, 50 percent from the line and hit 75 percent of their free throws to control the entire game. Tyler Kepkay continued to scorch the net with 40 points. He was 3-4 from beyond the arc and dished out two assists. Kepkay hit 11 of 11 free throws. Anthony Oliver was no slacker either with 22 points on the night. Rafael Moreira pulled in 11 rebounds.
On Saturday night the scoring was a bit more spread out with six CEU players in double figures. Along with Kepkay scoring 31, Tony Dalton came off the bench with 17 of his own. Kepkay and Dalton were both 7-7 from the line. The team shot over 50 percent on the night.
Kepkay remains number one in the nation in scoring. He is also ranked 2nd in the nation in free throw percent and 8th in 3pt field goal percentage. His stats as well as a strong supporting cast have helped get CEU ranked 13th in the nation in three point percentage and 9th in free throw percentage.
With the sweep, CEU sits tied for third but they are only one game back of second place SLCC. They will play at home for the next several weekends starting with SLCC this Friday and Saturday night. The men’s game tips off at 7:30 p.m. each night.
