Dance Technica is in its third year and just recently returned from a performance at the University of Utah halftime. Instructors are Tori Frandsen, originally from West Jordan and Anjelena Cook, originally from Magna.
Dance Technica offers classes in jazz, tap, ballet and pointe, ages three and up. Some classes will be performing Nov. 12.
Tori has been dancing for over 23 years and has been teaching for over nine years. She is currently the drill team advisor at Carbon High and has been a dance instructor at the College of Eastern Utah for the past five years where she taught ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, modern, and improvisation. She has also taught aerobics and Tai Chi classes for the college.
While at CEU, she was an assistant director for Ballet Repertory Ensemble and choreographed many pieces for their concerts as well as performed. Tori attended Weber State while on a dance scholarship and was a company member of Orchesis Dance Theatre. Tori attended CEU and was a member of Ballet Repertory Ensemble.
She is very excited for the opportunity to fulfill one of her dreams and open a dance studio. Tori can’t wait to portray her love of dance and new ideas to the dancers in this area.
Anjelena Cook has been dancing for 15 years and has been teaching for the past eight years. She was a member of the Cyprus High School dance and drill teams where she made the All-State and Academic All-State drill teams. She also placed 1st in 3A State Drill Down. Through her college experience, she has studied classes in ballet, tap, jazz, musical dance, and social dance. Anjelena earned a Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education, Magna Cum Laude from Utah State University.
Her performing experience includes: Disneyland, Disney World, University of Utah football games, The Huntsman Center, Jazz games, Go For It Dance Camps, and WRL Convention in Burbank, Calif.
Anjelena is starting her fifth year as the director of the College of Eastern Utah’s award winning Eagle Dance team. She also served as the drill team advisor at Carbon High School for three years where she directed a number of junior drill team camps. Her goal is to not only teach dance, but also to develop self-esteem, poise, and grace within each of her students. Her favorite motto is: “If you can talk, you can sing. If you can walk, you can dance.”
