A Carbon Dino makes her way down the field during a game last season. |
Last year proved to be an exciting one for the Carbon High Lady Dino soccer team. Although the team did not have an outstanding season in the record books, they did have a successful and fun season.
According to coach, Dave Capalbo, the main objective of competing in high school soccer is to provide the young group of athletes with experience while having a good time.
This year, Capalbo hopes the team will improve and advance in the Region 8 standings, but his main goal is to get young women involved in the sport.
Therefore, soccer tryouts for this year’s high school soccer team will take place August 4 and 5 on the Carbon High soccer field located directly behind the school.
Tryouts will take place both days from 6 to 8 p.m.
Capalbo welcomes girls entering the ninth grade through 12th grade students in the Carbon School District to participate in the tryouts.
The first game scheduled for the Dinos will take place August 12 on the team’s home field.
The team will then move on to compete against Grantsville on August 15 and then the Dinos will travel to Tooele on August 16.
Any girl interested in trying out are encouraged to contact Capalbo at 637-0207 with any questions or for further information.
