The annual all-state girls basketball rosters was released earlier this week and two Carbon High athletes are among those honored for their talent and strong performance this year.
Selected to the Class 3A all-state first team in the Salt Lake Tribune and third team in the Deseret News, was Dino senior, Chelsey Warburton. Although Warburton competed during the preseason and in the first few games of the season before being forced to the sidelines with a knee injury, she made such an impact on the court that she was included to the state roster.
Recently, Warburton signed a contract to compete for the College of Eastern Utah next season. She will join forces with her older sister Cassie who will enter her second season as a Golden Eagle.
In the short time which Warburton competed for the Dinos this year, she averaged 12 points per game.
Also selected to the all-state rosters was sophomore, Morgan Warburton. The youngest Warburton was listed on the second team rosters for both Utah newspapers.
Warburton finished the season with a 16.6 point average and became a dominant player for the Dinos this year.
With two more seasons ahead of her with the Dinos, Warburton is expected to once again be a key player for the Carbon team.
