Desert Thunder Raceway results announced for May 1 event. During a regularly scheduled racing event, competitors raced for the trophy at the Desert Thunder Raceway. The results include the following winners.
In the mini event, Bill Rowley took home the trophy with his first place finish. Terence Pine followed in second place and Kevin Gurr placed third.
In the street event, Mickey Stubbings finished in first place and captured the trophy. Darrin Bradley followed with a second place finish while Brett Alderson completed the race in third place.
The pure event found Paul Perez finishing in first place while Jake Johnson finished in second place. Sam Marrelli earned the trophy and finished the pure event in third place.
In the late event, Hubert Wilson gathered the trophy along with a first place finish. Rounding out the late event placement roster was Corey Smith in second place and Mike McGinn in third place.
Finally, in the ATV competition, Tony Martinez finished in first place and with the event trophy. Derek Mabbutt followed in second place while Chris Martinez rounded out the event with a third place finish.
Forest supervisor selected for Manti-LaSal National Forest. Recently, the USDA Forest Service announced that Alice Carlton will be the new forest supervisor for the Manti-LaSal National Forest which is based in Price.
Carlton has an extensive background in forestry and earned a bachelor of science degree in forest management from Oregon State University.
“The Manti-LaSal National Forest will offer me new and exciting challenges. I look forward to working with the employees, the people who use the forest, our partners and others interested in the management of the Manti-LaSal,” commented the newly appointed supervisor.
Carlton will begin her duties as forest supervisor July 27.
The new appointment comes after Elaine Zieroth, the current Manti LaSal supervisor decided to transfer to the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest.
Castle Country Horse Show Association gears up for summer series. Starting June 7 at the Carbon County Fairgrounds, the Castle Country Horse Show Association will kick off their regular summer series.
The series will span over the next several months with events taking place in both Carbon and Emery counties.
Riders of all ages are urged to participate and compete for prizes.
