A special presentation, “When Stars Came Down to Earth” will be presented by Von Del Chamberlain this Friday, August 2 at 7 p.m. at the CEU Prehistsoric Museum Classroom. The lecture is free to the public.
Chamberlain is a scholar-in-residence from Pope Southwest Desert Institute, physical science department, Utah Valley State College. He is a former director of the Hansen planetarium.
Before European influence many of the principals that guided Native American people were, as they believed, to be portrayed in the planets and stars. This highly illustrated presentation will describe these people, their knowledge of the world about them and concepts that governed their lives.
The program is co-sponsored by the Castle Country Regional Information Center and the Castle Valley Archeological Society.
The program has received funding from the Utah Humanities Council.
