A pair of traffic accidents on Monday sent two Price residents to the hospital with injuries.
The first mishap occurred at 836 East 100 North in Price at approximately 4 p.m. Driver Jesse Etzel, 69, reportedly tried to cross the road in front of a small business complex after exiting a parking space. Etzel had apparently backed her car and started to proceed when the accident occurred. When Etzel attempted to cross 100 North, a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Price resident David Hayes broad sided the woman’s Pontiac.
Etzel sustained head and neck injuries and was transported to Castleview Hospital.
The airbag in Hayes, vehicle deployed and he was wearing his seatbelt. It is unknown whether Etzel was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. No citation was issued at the scene.
At about 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 18, a second accident took place on Carbonville Road. Seth Marsing, 18 of Price, purportedly attempted to pull onto Carbonville Road from 1270 North in front of a southbound truck.
Driven by 19-year-old Chase Walker of Mountain Home in Duchesne County, the truck ran into the rear quarter panel of the Marsing SUV. The impact spun both vehicles around. Marsing incurred head injuries in the collision and was transported to the local hospital.
According to Carbon County Sheriff James Cordova, Marsing and Walker were reportedly wearing seatbelts at the time of the mishap. Marsing was cited for failure to yield in connection with the accident.
