Larose

Our mother, grandmother and friend, Sharon Arlene Davis LaRose passed away on July 4, 2018 in Price, Utah. She suffered for several years with serious esophageal and stomach issues. Recently she endured procedures, surgery, hospitalizations and related complications with little hope for recovery when on “Independence Day” her spirit left this life and she was reunited with loved ones.
Sharon was born on January 23, 1948 in Pryor Oklahoma to Dean C. Davis and Ruby M. Gooding Davis. She attended schools in Pryor and graduated in 1966 from Pryor High School. On January 17, 1968 Sharon married U.S. Navy Veteran, Lawrence B. Legge (later divorced). They welcomed a daughter, Deana into their family. Sharon was proud of her training as a nurses’ aid and worked at nursing homes in the Pryor area.
In 1986 Sharon moved to Utah and began to develop friendships that lasted throughout the remainder of her life. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crafts, family history and going to the Sr. Citizen center. Sharon liked having friends and neighbors come to her home and dearly loved the people of the Carbonville LDS Ward. Faye Lee’s friendship with Sharon began many years ago when Sharon helped care for Faye’s bedridden mother (Martha Lacey). “For ten years,” said Faye, “Sharon treated her as she would her own mother.” Sharon was grateful for her housemates, Brenda Rodriguez and Steve Chaney for their companionship and loving care. They also mourn her passing. She loved her pets. Her fur-baby, Prissy, was a great comfort. She talked often of her desire to go “home to Oklahoma” and be near her daughter and other family members.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her daughter, Deana M. (Legge) Buford and husband (Darrin), two grandsons (Jacob and Dylan), and a great-grandson (Jason), all of Pryor OK.
No services will be held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Carbonville LDS Ward fast offering fund (c/o Bp. Jason Frandsen, 566 W 1100 N, Price UT 84501). All donations will be given to Sharon’s family to help with expenses.
