Representatives of Pinnacle High School’s Project H.O.P.E. were invited to the state capitol in Salt Lake City to showcase their program at this year’s Talent Ready Utah Launch and Grant meeting.
This was an honor acknowledging the program’s student success stories based on a collaboration between the school, private industry, concurrent enrollment and other community resources.
Students interested in pursuing a health-related career have been afforded the opportunity to attend classes at USUE, the Dept. of Workforce Services, and completed two six-week paid internships at various departments in Castleview Hospital. Physicians offices, Urgent Care, local veterinarians and an extended care center all contributed to these internship opportunities.
Roberta Hardy, principal of Pinnacle High, and Zena Robinson, project director, were accompanied by their community partners, Ethan Migliori and Jamie Cano of USUE, and Mark Holyoak, CEO of Castleview Hospital.
H.O.P.E. students able to attend were: Abe Acosta, Sidney Dalebout, Yeraldy Bustillos, Karlee Cranford, Nikitta Cooke, Camryn Vigil, Mallory Taylor, Alyssa Cogswell, Hannah Stock, Brandon Huskett-Hyde, and Josh Kerr.
Pinnacle High is looking forward to expanding this program to include Freshmen and Sophomore classes next year.
