Joe Peterson

Joe Peterson spent his childhood in Price.  His father, Chas Peterson, taught history at CEU, and his family lived on Tenth East, on the eastern edge of town.  He attended and graduated from Durrant elementary.
Having completed two college degrees at BYU and one at UNLV, Peterson went on to work at colleges and universities through his entire career.  For the first twelve years of his career, he taught English for USU and Dixie State University.  Later, he worked as an administrator at Dixie State, SLCC, and finally USU.  For the past eight years, he has been Chancellor of USU Eastern, where he has been privileged to work with some of the finest people in the world.  Recently, Peterson announced his retirement at the end of June 2018.
He and his wife Becky have four children and four grandchildren.  A fifth grandchild arrives in May.  In his spare time, Peterson loves to write, to read Spanish language literature, to remodel old homes, and to “throw pots.”
