Matt Jardine

Matt Jardine, 42, passed away on January 26, 2018 in Utah Valley Hospital with pneumonia, influenza A, and other complications.
Matthew Darel Jardine was born on March 6, 1975 in Las Vegas, Nevada and six days later was placed in the arms of his parents, Darel Lynn and Christi Andrew Jardine.  Six months later after his adoption was finalized Matt and his parents went to the Logan temple to be sealed as an eternal family.  Two years later a sister, Kathryn, also became part of his forever family.
In July, 1979 Matt moved with his family to Price, Utah.  Matt attended school in Price and graduated from Carbon High School.  Matt lived independently for about eleven years but lived at the home of his parents the remainder of his life.  Matt enjoyed movies and had a vast DVD collection.
Matt’s social and emotional challenges made his life difficult and lonely.  He enjoyed rifle shooting with his dad, watching movies and dinners at Pizza Hut with his family.
Matt was an excellent driver and his part time job with Professional Transportation Inc. helped him gain self-confidence and a feeling of success.  He drove Union Pacific Railroad employees where ever they were needed from Helper to Grand Junction and Salt Lake City.
We are sad to experience this earthly separation but happy that Matt is finally able to experience happiness and progress in ways he could not while here on earth.
Matt leaves behind his parents, Elder Darel and Sister Christi Jardine; his sister, Kathryn (Jesse) Thayn and nieces, Hannah and Emma Thayn all of Plumas Lake, CA; grandmother, Wanda Andrew of Trenton, Utah; many aunts, uncles, cousins and his feline buddy, Smith.  Preceded in death by his grandparents, Edmund Ellsworth and Roma Jensen Jardine, and Merlin L. Andrew.
A viewing will be held at Fausett Mortuary in Price from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018 and the funeral will be Thursday, February 1, 2018 at noon with a viewing from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the services at the Westwood LDS Meetinghouse at 175 North 1280 West.  Burial will be in the Trenton City Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018 located in Trenton, Cache, Utah.
In lieu of flowers a donation to www.ldscharities.org is suggested.  Family and friends may sign the online guestbook and share memories of Matt at www.fausettmortuary.com.
