James E. Lyle

James, also known as Jim, was born in Ohio and has lived for 31 years in Huntington, Utah.  Our beloved Jim passed from this life to the next, in Price, Utah at age seventy.  Jim has been fighting cancer for over a year and ended his battle January 9, 2018.  Jim is married to Joann Holland-Lyle.  Jimmy and Joann were married in 2009 in Mesquite, Nevada, but shared great love for 31 devoted years.
Jim served in the US Army and in the Vietnam War, receiving honorary medals for combat war activities.   Jim Lyle was raised in the East before moving West to continue a career in mining.  Jim worked long and hard for the coal industry. He was born again and active in the simple gospel expressed within the Bible.  Jim was non-denominational by listing and wild about Jesus, whom he called his friend.  Jim had a list of questions that he was mentally tabulating for Jesus when his time on earth was over.  Jim enjoyed fishing, loved boating, and was an avid reader.  Jim was noted as the “research hound”, exploring and researching answers to the most sought-after questions from his family.  If Jim couldn’t conclude the answer using every resource known to man, Jim chalked it up to a question for Jesus.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Kathryn and his brother Wendell.  He is survived by his sister Mary Lou, her four children, six grandchildren and great grandchildren.  His brother is survived by three children and eight grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife and three children; Sandra Schilpp (Steven), Jesse Holland (Jill) and Charity Maxfield (Mark).  Jim is further survived by his grandchildren; Angel Wenger, Jesseca Holland, James Holland, Amanda Holland, Nathaniel Schilpp, Hannah Schilpp, Lannie “Koen” Burnside and Meghan Schilpp.         He is survived by one great-grandchild, Ellie Wenger.
Family and friends may sign the online guestbook and share a memory of Jim at www.heritagefuneralhomeutah.com
